Underdeck Compressor Parts & Maintenance Kits | Vanair®

Vanair® Underdeck Air Compressor Systems are built for the demands of utility, construction, and field service work — PTO-driven, vehicle-mounted, and running hard in conditions that punish equipment. Keeping them running means using the right parts at the right intervals. This page covers the genuine maintenance kits and replacement parts available for your Vanair® Underdeck System, organized by component type so you can find what your system needs and order with confidence.

Why OEM parts matter: Using non-genuine Vanair® filters or substituting non-Vanguard™ compressor oil will void your compressor warranty. Every kit listed here is engineered specifically for your Underdeck Air Compressor System model to protect performance, uptime, and warranty coverage.

Why the right part number matters: Kit contents and part numbers vary by compressor model, capacity, and chassis application. Always match your machine number to the parts list before ordering, or contact Vanair® parts support to confirm fit.

Find Parts by Underdeck System

Vanair® Underdeck Systems span multiple compressor families, drive configurations, and chassis applications. Parts and maintenance kits are matched to specific system families, not interchangeable across all models. Select your system below to browse the correct kits and components.

Not sure which system you have? Check the machine nameplate on the compressor body. The model designation and serial number are the fastest path to the correct part number. Vanair® parts support can confirm compatibility if the nameplate is damaged or unclear.

Underdeck System Maintenance Schedule at a Glance

Every Vanair® Underdeck System runs on a defined maintenance schedule tied to operating hours and calendar time. The V-TEC® II Total Electronic Control System display panel tracks hours automatically and triggers reminders at each threshold. The table below is the master reference for all underdeck service intervals.

Interval When Key Tasks
Pre-trip inspection Daily Check oil level at sight glass; inspect air filter condition; check for leaks
Break-in service Initial 50 hours Drain and refill compressor fluid; replace oil filter; inspect intake air filter
Annual PM Every 500 hours or 1 year (whichever first) Replace oil filter; drain and refill fluid; replace intake air filter element; inspect oil cooler and ducting
Separator replacement Every 6,000 hours or 5 years (whichever first) Replace air-oil separator element; inspect scavenge line orifice and filter screen
As needed Per fault code or symptom Clean scavenge line; inspect blowdown valve diaphragm; address V-TEC® II fault codes

Shorten intervals in harsh conditions. Dusty environments, high humidity, or visible water contamination in the compressor oil all require more frequent oil and filter changes. The 500-hour guideline assumes normal operating conditions.

What Happens if You Miss a Service Interval?

Missing the 50-hour break-in service is the most consequential skip. Fine metallic particles generated during initial run-in accumulate in the oil and filter. Leaving them in circulation accelerates wear on the compressor element and can shorten service life significantly before the first annual PM is even due.

Missing the 500-hour annual service typically shows up as elevated fluid consumption, reduced output pressure, or increased oil carry-over in discharge air. These are early indicators that the separator element is working harder than it should.

Missing the 6,000-hour separator replacement is the highest-cost failure scenario. A degraded separator element allows oil to pass into the discharge air stream, contaminating pneumatic tools and downstream equipment. Separator replacement is inexpensive relative to the cost of a compressor rebuild or tool damage.

For the full task-by-task procedure at each interval, refer to Vanair’s Prescribed Maintenance documentation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What parts are included in a Vanair® underdeck maintenance kit?

Kit contents vary by system family and service interval. The 50-hour break-in kit typically includes compressor fluid, an oil filter element, and an intake air filter. The 500-hour annual kit adds a filter seal ring and a full fluid drain-and-refill quantity. The air-oil separator element is a separate, longer-interval item and is not included in the standard annual kit. Always match the kit to your machine number before ordering.

How often should I service my Vanair® underdeck air compressor?

The first service is at 50 hours of operation (break-in). After that, the primary interval is every 500 hours or once per year, whichever comes first. The air-oil separator element is replaced every 6,000 hours or five years. In dusty or high-humidity environments, shorten the oil and filter change interval. The V-TEC® II Total Electronic Control Systemdisplay panel tracks hours and triggers reminders automatically.

Do I need genuine Vanair® parts, or can I use generic alternatives?

Vanair® specifies genuine OEM parts and approved compressor fluid in all maintenance documentation. Generic filter elements may have the correct thread pattern but incorrect bypass pressure ratings, allowing unfiltered oil to circulate under load. Non-approved fluids may not meet the viscosity requirements of PTO-driven underdeck systems. Using non-genuine components can also void warranty coverage. The cost difference between genuine and generic parts is small compared to the cost of a premature compressor failure.

How do I find the correct part number for my underdeck system?

Locate the machine number on the nameplate affixed to the compressor unit body. That number encodes the compressor family, CFM rating, and build configuration. Cross-reference it against the parts list in your system documentation to identify the correct kit or component part number. If the documentation is unavailable, Vanair® parts support can confirm the correct part number with your machine number, chassis make and model, and approximate year of installation.

How do I contact Vanair® for parts support or warranty questions?

Vanair® parts support and warranty questions are handled by the Vanair® Service Department, reachable at 1-844-826-7378. For online parts ordering, genuine OEM maintenance kits, and replacement parts for all underdeck models, find a Vanair® Authorized Parts Distributor near you or shop their online store. When contacting service, have your machine package serial number and compressor serial number ready — both are required to confirm your exact configuration and process warranty or RMA requests.

What are the signs that my underdeck compressor needs service before the scheduled interval?

Watch for these indicators between scheduled services:

  • Visible oil in the discharge air or on downstream tools (separator element wear or failure)
  • Higher than normal fluid consumption between oil changes (separator or scavenge line issue)
  • Reduced output pressure or CFM at the same PTO engagement (filter restriction or element wear)
  • Intake air filter indicator showing restriction (replace immediately; do not wait for the annual service)
  • V-TEC® II Total Electronic Control Systemdisplay fault codes (address per the fault code reference in your operator manual)

Any of these symptoms warrants inspection before the next scheduled interval, regardless of hours on the meter.
