The Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo hosted industry leaders to present cutting-edge advancements in charging technology, covering a wide range of innovations such as wireless charging, smart grid integration, and scalable infrastructure solutions. This presentation showcased Vanair®, a Lincoln Electric Company’s Chip Jones, National Account Manager of the Electrified Product Group.
Chip is a recognized leader in the truck equipment industry, bringing nearly two decades of expertise in air compressors, pumps, cranes, and power systems. His career spans all facets of the industry, from managing truck upfitting operations to national sales and product management. For the past five years, Chip has spearheaded the development and education of electrified Mobile Power Solutions®, specifically in the EPEQ® Electrified Power Equipment® product group. He has been instrumental in transforming the work truck landscape, pioneering the electrification of traditionally hard-to-electrify models to deliver Clean, Quiet, Power™ and reduce the carbon footprint.
At the expo, Chip presented the increasing demand for emergency electric vehicle (EV) charging and the solutions provided by Vanair® and Lincoln Electric. The susceptibility of a drained battery on an EV creates a need for companies to offer emergency battery charging options on the road, in parking lots, etc. Products such as Vanair’s EPEQ® Level 1 and Level 2 EV Chargers and Lincoln Electric’s Velion™ EV Charging Equipment options can help overcome these EV expansion hurdles. These systems have the ability to be placed in service trucks, vehicle storage lots, airports, railyards, and more.
