We are currently seeking to hire an experienced Quality Technician at our location in Michigan City, Indiana.
Position Summary
- Inspect incoming and outgoing product for conformance.
- Contact vendors to arrange shipment of non-conforming material.
- Identify / verify non-conformances when discovered during the assembly process.
- Complete tasks deemed necessary from supervisors thoroughly and on time.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- 1st Article inspections.
- Investigate and report production line failures.
- Communicate with engineering, purchasing, production staff, receiving, and vendors to maintain quality product.
- Read prints and schematics to verify tolerances and aesthetics. Use micrometers, calipers, angle finders, paint gauges, ring gauges, plug gauges, gauge blocks, and bore gauges.
Job Qualifications and Skills
- Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Must have a team-orientated attitude and are able to work with and within groups.
- Able to multi-task and maintain workloads with changing priorities and timelines.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be willing to travel, possess a valid driver’s license, and have a clean driving record. Trips are short and seldom.
